The Gold Coast is always bustling, with projects through Brisbane, along the M1 and onto the coastline. There’s always something happening.
Mermaid Beach and Broadbeach has come in on the UDIA Top 20 list at number 2, thanks to a large number of major projects approved and underway in the area. From $65 million apartment complexes to $500 million luxury towers, the multi-billion development boom in Broadbeach–Mermaid Beach area is having major impacts on the skyline.
Palm Beach is another suburb that is set to undergo some serious change in the next few years. The Palm Beach Business Centre Master Plan aims to enhance Palm Beach’s existing context, character, built and natural environment and to achieve revitalisation and sustained growth for the centre.
And of course Robina Town Centre remains one of the most prominent development areas in the region. Almost $1 billion of new commercial, residential and infrastructure projects are underway or in the pipeline in popular CBDRobina. There are more than ten major projects are nearing completion, under construction, or about to commence, including two master-planned residential communities, two high-end aged care facilities, a business park, a hotel, a school, a childcare centre and a world-class custom-built gymnasium.
A little further north at Coomera, is an exciting mixed use urban development plan. The Urban Village is a commercial, retail and residential development covering all lots along Foxwell Road from George Alexander Way to Finnegan Way. Two of the projects in the area include the Foreshore project with 750 homes, 2.5km of river frontage and 58 hectare conservation area; while Highland Reserve has 1,151 lots. Coomera Town Centre is now open with 61,000m2, including commercial space, cinemas, 140 specialty stores, and more.
