The RNA Development is the largest of its kind in the country. Including an enormous 340,000m2 of new commercial, retail, and residential buildings there will also be a further 76,000m2 of new expansion on RNA retained land.
The project value is estimated at $2.9 billion inclusive of new residential, commercial, and retail development.
The project is expected to deliver more than $300 million each year in economic benefits and will create more than 2,000 jobs. Many sections of the redevelopment are expected to be completed later in the year, with some already finished and attracting new life to the precinct.
Construction of The Pavilion will be complete by October, and partial use is anticipated for the Ekka in August. The world’s largest engineered timber office building, 25 King, is on track to completion in late 2018.
More retailers will open throughout 2018 on King Street. King Street will be trading during EKKA, with a range of restaurants, craft beer halls and a gin bar to keep everyone happy.
King Street is developing as a vivacious community and a place to taste the best of local food, celebrate local traders and appreciate lively entertainment.
With over one million annual visitors to the Brisbane Showgrounds, King Street and the RNA precinct project will be valuable for investors for years to come.
Currently housing 356 apartments at The Green, 400+ apartments in The Yards, a nine-level state-of-the-art commercial tower, the brand new four-star Rydges Hotel, restaurants, cafés, a Day Spa, a boutique hairdresser, and The Emporium Barber and five levels of car parking the site is only set to expand dramatically in the coming months and years ahead.
With the addition of a craft beer hall and microbrewery, wholefoods supermarket and a further 10+ specialty shops, green spaces, and 22 hectares of an additional apartment and commercial developments, there will be a range of buildings consisting of 36, 38 & 40 levels.
