On Brisbane’s northside, we’re watching the transformation of Redcliffe very closely.
From multimillion-dollar upgrades of shopping centres, health facilities, and stadiums, to brand new residential complexes with dining precincts, the Redcliffe Peninsula will ultimately look very different when these new developments are completed.
Bluewater Square Shopping Centre
If approved by the local council, this shopping centre will have a major new entertainment precinct built in place of three retail tenancies and an unused outdoor dining area. Located on the Sutton Street side of the shopping centre, the under the sea themed attraction will include an 18 hole mini golf course, a bar, and a party room with the latest computer game machines inside and an under the sea mural around the outside.
1 Redcliffe Parade Towers
With an application being lodged later this year, this development will have two towers with options for both short term and residential accommodation. Located directly across the road from Mon Komo, the site on Redcliffe Parade will also have a laneway with green space, as well as retail and dining precincts.
Construction of the $6.5 million northern grandstand upgrade at Dolphins Stadium on Klingner Road is set to finish in early August. The stadium will have a maximum capacity of 10,000 people once it has been completed, which could see it host major sporting events like the Women’s Football World Cup and maybe even the Olympics.
Due to open last year, the Redcliffe Hospital’s $23.7 million multi-storey car park is expected to finally open later this year. Construction has also begun on the hospital’s new $16 million two-storey paediatrics emergency and medical imaging departments, with a new $5.4 million operating theatre being built on Level 2.
Situated close enough to the hustle and bustle of the big city, with views directly over Moreton Bay, the Peninsula at Redcliffe is truly a developer’s dream.
