Despite the threat of Covid-19, the building industry in Brisbane hasn’t stopped and there are many commercial projects of varying seizes which have recently commenced.
Property development and investment company Wallum Partners is revamping two neglected buildings built in the 1980’s. Situated along one of Brisbane inner west’s busiest thoroughfares on the corner of Coronation Drive and Cribb St in Milton, the four-level office buildings will undergo a $40 million-dollar transformation which will bring them into the current century.
On the corner of Wayne Goss Drive and Browns Plains Road in Brisbane’s south, De Luca Corporation has recently begun work on their $60 million-dollar mixed-use development at Berrinba Central. While the site is currently going through service upgrades and bulk earthworks, the project itself is already over 90% leased, some of which being big-name brands. Stage 1 expected to be complete towards the end of 2020, and they also have plans underway for a club or a tavern on the site.
Mirvac Construction has started the development of Tulloch House, the new 8-level luxury apartment building being built within the Eagle Farm Racecourse precinct. The $77 million-dollar second stage of this masterplanned development will employ around 1300 construction workers at various times through till late 2021.
Meanwhile, work has also started north of Brisbane on a new $115 million-dollar masterplanned community located in Caboolture. Called Orion on Rowe, the new precinct will include apartments, offices, and retail, as well as a 100-bed aged-care facility and specialist disability apartments. Most construction for the project will be completed off site before arriving onsite to be assembled and is ultimately scheduled to finish sometime around at the end of 2020.
