At McGees, we’re branching out. And as we move into 2021, the Moreton Bay region is on our radars. The region has grown immensely over the past decade, and continues to do so. In 2021, there’s an abundance of projects underway, set to bring jobs and business into the area. Here’s a quick rundown:
North Harbour is a $2.7 billion project that’s will include a new 400-berth marina at Burpengary East. The project also includes new apartments and homes, along with 319 hectares of recreational open space. When complete, it will be the largest riverfront parkland in Southeast Queensland, with retail, tourism and entertainment precincts.
Bellmere Shopping Precinct is another project that’s expected to start soon. The plan is to build a shopping centre, anchored by Woolworths, as well as other retail stores, a gym, playground and over 220 carparks.
Newport Marketplace is a $30 million hub that will include retail tenancies, cafes, a gym, supermarket, medical centre and community club. It’ll be built at 2 Spinnaker Boulevard on a 1.46 hectare block.
A major residential development is the Lasail complex, valued at $120 million. The complex at Newport will include 115 units in two six-storey buildings, and 11 two-storey townhouses that will have canal frontage.
Deception Bay Community Hub will include construction of a new community facility for the first stage, park infrastructure in the second stage, and other developments as well.
There are also some sporting projects expected, including development of a new BMX track and precinct in Brendale, the new Women’s Centre of Excellence and Youth Academy at South Pine Sports Complex, and the $14 million Griffin Sports Complex.
